What the Top 100 shows and what it hides

The Top 100 ranks repositories by total lifetime stars. This produces a durable, low-noise leaderboard dominated by foundational tools (React, TensorFlow, VS Code) that have accumulated community attention over years. Because stars only grow (they are almost never removed at scale), this ranking naturally favors older projects and underrepresents newer tools that may already have stronger daily adoption.
